UHD 530 (i5 6500) 25.20.100.6444 (DCH) driver no more QuickSync

    zMeul

QuickSync video decoder no longer present since I updated to this driver

I do not know if it's a compound problem, LAV Filter, Windows itself or the driver

I'm used to playback videos trough QuickSync because the system draws less power than using CUVID with the GTX1070

Thank you for joining this Intel Community.

We would like to gather system information to address this issue.

          1. Are you using Windows® 10 1809 (RS5)?
Check Windows* updates – scan and apply all of them.

          2. Run the Intel® System Support Utility and attach the report to this thread.

1.Download the Intel® System Support Utility and save the application to your system.
          https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-?product=91600
2.Open the application and click Scan to see system and device information. The Intel® System Support Utility defaults to the Summary View on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says summary to change to Detailed View.
3.To save your scan, click Next and click Save. You can save the file to any accessible location on your computer.

              Hello zMeul

              Thank you for your response.

Since your processor supports Intel® Quick Sync Video, we are trying to replicate this behavior. Please check the following information:

What are the Intel® Quick Sync Video-enabled applications you are using?

yes, if I use HandBrake to encode some video file and chose to use QSV decoder, the resulted video file will not have video, only audio

if I chose to not use QSV decoder, the resulted file will play video with no problem - even if I use QSV as encoder

up until this driver I do not recall having issues with Intel QSV used to decode files

We have massive problems as well.

The worst thing about the situation is that is is not even sufficient to uninstall the DCH driver and return to a previous driver.

Reason: The DCH driver does not remove the msdk files that it installs to %WINDIR%\System32 and %WINDIR%\SysWOW64  when the user uninstalls the DCH driver.

In order to get QuickSync working like before, it is required to manually delete the following files from %WINDIR%\System32 and %WINDIR%\SysWOW64:

                        libmfxhw32.dll
