Time left in my Jupyter Notebook session

    suraty

      Hello,

I am using Intel® AI DevCloud for my deep model training. I've set the hours item for the taken time of my model when I requested a client.

Now, the time left in my Jupyter Notebook session is 4 hours and I should save my notebook before this time runs out and then start a new session, while my model training takes time more than 4 hours.

Can I request more Time left for my server?

      Thank you very much

          Hi,

          Thanks for approaching us.

We can not increase the 4 hours session timeout in Jupyter notebook.

Jupyter notebook is a GUI interface which is useful to debug the program and verify plots and it will not have much compute power for running the cells in your Notebook.

It is advisable to submit job in queue if we are planning for long time. We can set the wall time using PBS command. Maximum time we can set is 24 hours, can not increase more than 24 hours.

Create a shell script by name train.sh or some other name (Sample is provided below)
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
          #!/bin/bash
          #PBS -l walltime=24:00:00
source activate <your conda env name>
          python <your python script name>
           source deactivate
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Submit the train.sh script to kick off job in qsub mode. All these steps you have to run from login node.

          Please contact for any queries..

          Thanks,
